Principal


Eric H. Hansen, CIMA, AIF, C(k)P  is the founder of Hartmann-Astor Investment Consulting, an investment consulting firm focused on providing concierge consulting services for ERISA Fiduciaries and their individual plan participants.  Mr. Hansen consults with mid-size corporations in regards to their defined contribution, pension and non-qualified plans guiding them in the areas of vendor selection, fiduciary training and support, investment manager search and selection as well as participant communication and education strategies. In this capacity, Mr. Hansen serves as a 3(21) co-fiduciary to the plan with negotiated fee arrangements.  Mr. Hansen also assists plan sponsors in the selection of plan advisors, helping them identify individuals who display competency, integrity and demonstrate proven success.  This process involves background, licensing and educational verification as well as the validation of the impact that each advisors has had on their client's plans.  Mr. Hansen prefers proof over posturing.


Mr. Hansen earned a B.S. in Marketing at Boston University in Massachusetts.  He began his investment career working as a mutual fund accountant for State Street Bank and an investment analyst for NationsBank.  His experience in the 401(k) world began in 1995 at the recordkeeper Northern Trust Retirement Consulting (now Hewitt) and continued with The Consulting Group at Smith Barney where he served as an institutional consultant.  In addition, he also earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, C(k)P through UCLA's Anderson School of Business and his AIF through FI360.


Prior to starting Hartmann Astor, Mr. Hansen served in several other consulting and investment related positions including, Vice President & Regional Sales Director with Lincoln Financial Group, Senior Investment Consultant with Veritas Consulting Group and Arista Investment Advisors, Funds Valuation Analyst with Nations Bank, and Senior Business Development Associate with The Consulting Group at Smith Barney. His experience over the past 20 years has been focused on serving the institutional investment marketplace with a focus on defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

Investments


CIMA – Certified Investment Management Analyst – Obtained through the Wharton School of Business CIMA professionals integrate a complex body of investment knowledge to assist institutions evaluate investment vehicles.  CIMA is the only financial program credential to have met ISO 17024 Standards.


Fiduciary


AIF – Accredited Investment Fiduciary – The AIF training prepares professionals to help mitigate the liability associated with investment programs and institute prudent practices.


ERISA


The C(k)P Certified 401(k) professional is in collaboration with the UCLA Anderson School of Business and recognizes individuals with substantial practical  and educational proficiency.  The designation represents the pinnacle of achievement for the Professional 401(k) Advisor.
